The Model 18C has eight independent and multi-purpose sensor inputs, the 14C has four and the 12C has two. Virtually any cryogenic temperature sensor from any manufacturer can be selected by a single setting of the front panel. A dual thermocouple input is a field installable option.
Auto-ranged, Constant-Voltage AC excitation provides robust support for cryogenic Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) sensors including Ruthenium-oxide, Carbon-Glass, Cernox™, Carbon-Ceramic, Germanium and several others.
Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) resistor sensors including Platinum and Rhodium-Iron RTDs use constant-current, AC excitation.
Silicon Diode sensors are supported over their full range by using 10uA constant-current DC excitation.
User memory is available for custom or calibrated sensors.
The front panel consists of a large, bright TFT-LCD display and a 4-key keypad. Most features and functions can be accessed via this simple and intuitive menu driven interface.

The display is highly configurable. All eight temperature readings can be shown simultaneously in a small font or two selected channels in a large font.
Temperature data may be continuously logged into a large internal buffer. Data is time-stamped and saved in non-volatile memory.
The IEEE 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) specification is supported allowing the monitor to be powered by it's local area network connection. Since PoE provides both power and data over a single cable, remote data acquisition and high channel count systems are simplified.
Two 10.0 Amp dry-contact relay outputs are available that can be asserted based on temperature setpoints from user selected input channels. These relays are large enough to switch most cryogenic valves.
Visual, remote and audible alarms may be programmed to assert based on temperature setpoints. E-mail may be sent based on selected alarm conditions.
The Model 18C's Ethernet interface connects directly to any 100/10 Base-T Ethernet Local-Area-Network.
An embedded web server allows the monitor to be viewed and configured from any web browser.
TCP and UDP data port servers bring fast, reliable remote control to common data acquisition software programs including LabView™.
An RS-232 serial interface allows simple connectivity for non-networked systems.
A full IEEE-488.2 GPIB interface is available as a compact external option that connects to the Ethernet LAN port. USB 2.0 serial port emulation is also optional.
Remote interfaces implement an IEEE-488.2 SCPI compliant remote command language that is easy to learn and easy to read. This language is identical across all Cryo-con products to ensure that your investment in system software is always protected.
Labview™ drivers are available for all remote interfaces.
